HEALTH CONDITIONS

Don’t allow your health condition to deter you from exercise. A good trainer will be able to modify any exercise program to accommodate limitations. Many times, those limitations become extinct with proper training.

Some common conditions I see :

OBESITY: As metabolic changes may have already occurred due to body fat levels this requires special consideration in designing a program. You cannot just be treated the same way as those people who get on your nerves that just want to lose a “few” pounds.

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE: There are certain exercises that are avoided for you and medication effects that must be considered in your program. As a pharmacist, I am in a unique position to assess your drugs and act as a liaison between you and your doctor. I have seen many people actually eliminate the need for medication once they adopt an exercise program.

HIGH CHOLESTEROL/TRIGLYCERIDES: Exercise is JUST the thing for you! Drugs you use have side effects. Let’s try to eliminate the need for them!

DIABETES: You know exercise improves this drastically. We will tweak your diet and assess medications to keep your blood sugar controlled as perfectly as possible. There is a great likelihood your doctor will reduce or even eliminate your prescriptions. Hormone regulation plays a large role in your success.

ARTHRITIS: You need a good trainer to show you which exercises make things worse and which help. Proper diet can help here too.

BACK PAIN: Unless you have a fractured, herniated disc or spinal condition back pain is caused by muscle imbalance and weakness. I emphasize CORE strength in all my workouts and being also certified in Pilates, I am able to show you how to eliminate back pain.

MENOPAUSE: Although this is not a disease or condition, some think of it as a curse nonetheless. I have an extensive education in human physiology and understand how the hormonal rollercoaster does a doosey on your body. You can’t outsmart mother nature but you sure can stay a step ahead of her with the proper plan.
